Shopian is a district in the southern part of Kashmir Valley, located in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is known as the ''Apple town of Kashmir'' due to the majority of the population engaging in apple growing practices.

The district is currently trending due to an ongoing terrorist encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Zinpather Keller area, resulting in the death of one terrorist and two more believed to be trapped. .
